Drawings Identification and Organization

The mechanical drawings are identified by a unique naming convention as follows:

Drawing Identification Convention

TYPE-NUMBER-ISSUE_NAME

Example: MA0-0001-A_Asm eVectors

with

  • TYPE a unique code identifying the type of file as defined in the following table
Code Meaning
MIF Mechanical Interface Drawing
MA0, MA1, MA2, etc... Mechanical Assembly Drawing of level 0 (top), 1, 2, etc...
MM Mechanical Manufacturing Drawing
  • NUMBER a number
  • ISSUE a letter starting with A (first issue) identifying the current issue of the drawing
  • NAME a name of the drawing for easy identification

Warning

An underscore _ shall be used between ISSUE and NAME:

This is used by SolidWork Marco to automatically link drawing to parts.
