Synchronous Claw Pole electrical machine : (alternateur démarreur synchrone à griffes, à rotor bobiné) uses permanent-magnets to increase efficiency but the rotor magnetic field is mainly produced by the electromagnet. It uses less permanent magnet than a standard permanent-magnet electrical machine.
